Build your campaign URL
Give every campaign a clear source.
Add your destination and campaign details, then build a ready-to-copy URL for your social posts, newsletters or ads.
A tagged link, ready for your campaign
Other query parameters and page anchors are retained. Spaces and special characters in tags are encoded automatically. Paste plain text into the fields, not pre-encoded values.
UTM tags are visible to anyone with the link. Use campaign labels, not personal details. Your destination needs a working analytics setup to report visits; this builder does not count clicks or check the destination.

From link to campaign
How to build a UTM link
Start with the page people should visit, then give the campaign a consistent set of labels.
- 1
Paste your destination
Enter the full HTTP or HTTPS address. Existing non-UTM query parameters and page anchors stay in the link.
- 2
Add campaign labels
Complete source, medium and campaign name. Add content, term, campaign ID or source platform when your reporting needs them.
- 3
Build and review
The builder encodes your tags and replaces existing UTM parameters. Check the readable breakdown beside the form.
- 4
Copy and test the link
Paste the generated URL into your campaign. Verify the final destination and your analytics reporting before a wider rollout.

Every placement deserves a clear label.
A bio link and an email button can lead to the same page. Give them different source or content labels while keeping one campaign name. A shared naming convention makes it easier to compare your campaign links later.

In GA4, campaign labels can appear in acquisition reporting when your analytics setup receives them. See Google's campaign URL guidance and manual versus automatic tagging. Documentation checked 27 September 2026.

UTM builder questions, answered
What does a UTM builder do?
It adds campaign labels to a website address. This tool creates the URL in your browser and lets you copy it into a post, email or ad. It does not shorten links, host redirects or collect click counts. Your destination analytics handles reporting.
Which fields do I need?
This builder requires a website URL, campaign source, medium and name. Content, term, campaign ID and source platform are optional here. Add the optional fields your reporting needs. Google recommends consistent campaign tagging; the documentation linked below explains how these parameters map to Analytics.
Can I use UTM links on Instagram, LinkedIn and in email?
Yes, wherever that channel accepts a clickable website link. Use a source label for the placement and a shared campaign name when comparing channels. For example, an Instagram bio link can use instagram / social while a newsletter uses newsletter / email. The builder cannot make a non-clickable caption into a clickable link.
What happens if my URL already contains UTM parameters?
All existing query parameters whose names begin with utm_ are removed, including duplicates and uppercase variants. The fields you enter become the new tags. Blank optional fields are omitted, so old optional tags are removed too. Other query parameters keep their order and encoding, and a page anchor stays at the end. Review the generated link before sharing.
Should I type spaces, symbols or encoded text?
Enter plain text. The builder encodes spaces, ampersands, plus signs, emoji and other characters so they remain inside the correct value. Do not paste pre-encoded tags: an entered percent sign is treated literally. Outer spaces are trimmed, but capitalization and internal spaces are retained. Use the same naming convention for every link in a campaign.
Does this install Google Analytics or guarantee attribution?
No. A tagged URL supplies labels; the destination needs an analytics installation that reads them. Consent choices, blockers, redirects and your analytics configuration can affect reporting. Test the final destination and confirm a visit reaches your reports. This tool does not connect to or inspect your analytics account.
Will this work with Google Ads auto-tagging?
The builder retains non-UTM query parameters such as gclid, but adding manual tags does not replace an advertising platform integration. When manual and auto-tagging are used together, Google Analytics normally uses auto-tagged values for traffic classification. Check Google's current guidance linked below before changing an existing paid campaign setup.
Are my campaign details saved?
The builder works on your device. It does not save a campaign history, fetch the URL or send your entered link and tags to a server. Reset clears the form and result; refreshing also starts a new form. A copied link remains in your clipboard until you replace it. Anyone who receives the link can read its tags, so use campaign labels without personal information.
Why is my website URL rejected?
Use a complete HTTP or HTTPS address. The builder rejects embedded login credentials, spaces, backslashes, malformed percent escapes and URLs above 8,192 characters. Each campaign field allows up to 200 characters. It validates the URL format without visiting the site, so a generated link does not prove that the page exists.
