Approximate preview. Line wrapping and “see more” placement vary by device and LinkedIn’s interface.

Select text to format part of your post, or leave nothing selected to format everything. Styles use Unicode letters, which may be harder for screen readers to read. Use emphasis sparingly; Plain text reverses these styles.

The count follows Social Magnum’s composer; styled letters and some emoji use more than one count. Editing stays in this tab and is not saved. Copy your text before leaving or refreshing the page.

A little emphasis, a clearer list

How it works

How to format a LinkedIn post

Keep your words and give them a clear structure. The formatter changes supported characters in your browser; it does not write or publish your post.

  1. 1

    Write or paste your draft

Start with your own text or try the built-in example. Your draft stays in this tab, so copy it before you refresh or leave.

  2. 2

    Select the words to emphasize

Highlight a heading or short phrase, then choose Bold, Italic or Bold italic. With nothing selected, the action applies to the entire post.

  3. 3

    Add bullets and tidy spacing

Select the lines for your list and choose Bullets. Choose it again to remove them. Tidy spacing clears trailing spaces and extra blank lines.

  4. 4

    Preview, check and copy

Review the approximate preview and character count. Copy your text and paste it into LinkedIn or your scheduler, then check it there before publishing.

Plain text version

Three lessons from our launch

What would you add?

Plain words and short paragraphs work without styled characters.

Formatting that stays readable

Bold text on LinkedIn: what to know

This is a Unicode text formatter, not native rich-text editing. Styled letters are different characters that resemble bold or italic text. Use them with care.

  1. 1

Use bold for a short opening

A single emphasized phrase can separate your opening from the rest of a post. Keep the main explanation in plain text; formatting does not guarantee better reach.

  2. 2

Keep names and important details plain

Some screen readers and devices handle styled letters differently. English letters and supported digits can be styled; accents, emoji and other scripts are preserved.

  3. 3

    Check the character count

LinkedIn documents a 3,000-character limit for posts. Our conservative count follows Social Magnum’s composer: styled letters and some emoji take more than one count. It is a draft check, not a guarantee that LinkedIn will accept the text.

  4. 4

Return to plain text at any time

Plain text reverses the styles created here. Undo and Redo let you compare edits, and short paragraphs or bullets provide structure without styled letters.

LinkedIn text formatter FAQ

How do I format a LinkedIn post?

Paste your text, select the words you want to change, and choose Bold, Italic or Bold italic. Use Bullets for a list and Tidy spacing to remove extra blank lines. Copy the result and paste it into your post.

Is this native LinkedIn rich-text formatting?

No. This tool replaces supported English letters and digits with Unicode characters that look styled. Other scripts, accents and emoji stay unchanged. It does not add HTML or Markdown formatting.

Can I remove the formatting?

Yes. Select styled text and choose Plain text, or leave nothing selected to convert the entire post. This reverses styles created by this tool. Undo also restores earlier edits, including a cleared post.

What is the LinkedIn post character limit?

LinkedIn documents a 3,000-character post limit. This tool uses Social Magnum’s conservative composer count, where styled letters and some emoji take more than one count. You can still copy longer text, but should shorten it before publishing.

Are styled letters accessible?

Unicode styles can be harder to read with assistive technology and may display differently across devices. Use them sparingly. Keep essential information in plain text and use short paragraphs or bullets for structure.

Do I need an account, and where does my text go?

Editing and copying are free without an account. Formatting runs in your browser. Your text stays in this tab and is not saved or sent to a server by the formatter. Copy it before refreshing or leaving the page. Nothing is published automatically.
