Yes. Every line of text on the page is clickable. Change the words, the size, the colour or the typeface, and existing images and logos can be replaced or removed the same way. The editor reads the real font of whatever you clicked and matches its family, weight and slant, so bold stays bold and italic stays italic. Clicking a line only to look at it changes nothing; a page is only rewritten once you actually alter something.

No. The file is opened, edited and written entirely inside this page. The parser and the writer both run in your browser. Nothing is transmitted, which is why the editor keeps working with your network disconnected, and why you can safely put a contract or a bank statement through it.

Because that is the only way to genuinely replace text in a PDF from a browser. Covering a name with a white rectangle leaves the original name in the file, one Ctrl+F away. Worse than useless if the document is private. Flattening the page destroys the old text for real; the words you typed are then drawn back on top in the document's own typeface. Pages you did not touch keep their full selectable text.

Yes, and this is worth understanding because most tools get it wrong. A black box drawn over words hides them visually while the characters stay in the file, where anyone can select, copy or search them. That is exactly how redacted documents leak. Any page you redact here is flattened on export, so the text underneath genuinely stops existing. The trade-off is that the page is no longer selectable, and the editor says so before you download.

Yes. You will be asked for the password, and it is used in this tab only. What the tool deliberately cannot do is add a password to the output: the PDF writer used here has no encryption support, and pretending otherwise would hand you a file you believed was protected when it was not.

No. That needs OCR, and an OCR model is far too large to sensibly ship to a browser. If text extraction finds nothing, your PDF is a photograph of a document rather than a document; you can still whiteout, stamp, sign and annotate on top of it, but retyping its printed words needs an OCR tool first. The editor tells you plainly instead of returning an empty file.
