Threads Scheduler: Queue Posts to Threads Next to Instagram

Social Magnum schedules text, image, carousel and video posts to Threads through Meta's official Threads API, from the same calendar as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky and Mastodon. Threads added its own scheduling in January 2025, up to 75 days ahead and not for replies. Our app passed Meta's review for Threads in July 2026; replies to your posts land in the shared inbox and can be answered or auto-answered from there.

What Threads schedules on its own

Threads added native scheduling in January 2025: create a post, open the three-dot menu, choose Schedule, and pick a time up to 75 days ahead. Scheduled posts wait in your drafts. Replies cannot be scheduled, and the feature lives inside the app, one post at a time.

The Threads API, which every third-party scheduler uses, has no scheduled_at field. That means each tool holds its own queue and calls the API at publish time. Ours does exactly that, through Meta's official API, with a daily ceiling of 250 posts and 1,000 replies per rolling 24 hours set by the platform.

How scheduling a Threads post works here

Connect your Threads account with its own login (not through Instagram), then queue posts like any other network.

  1. 1Connect Threads with the Threads login. Our Threads app is Meta-reviewed, with the permissions publishing, replies and insights need.
  2. 2Write the post. Text alone is fine on Threads; add images, a carousel or a video if you want them.
  3. 3Pick the slot. If the same post goes to Instagram, add the Instagram account and adapt the caption; Instagram needs media, Threads does not.
  4. 4Optionally send it for approval.
  5. 5At the slot it publishes through the API. Failures are marked with Threads' reason and can be retried.
  6. 6Replies show up in the Engage inbox; auto-replies can answer common ones for you.

Threads scheduling, answered

Can you schedule posts on Threads?

Yes, two ways. The Threads app schedules posts up to 75 days ahead from the three-dot menu, one at a time. A scheduler like Social Magnum queues Threads posts alongside your other networks with no upper limit.

Does the Threads API support scheduling?

No. The API publishes immediately and has no scheduled_at field, so every third-party scheduler holds the queue itself and publishes at the set time. Social Magnum works the same way.

Can I schedule replies on Threads?

Not natively; Threads' own scheduler excludes replies. In Social Magnum replies are handled in the inbox as they come in, manually or with auto-reply rules.

Is there a limit on how many Threads posts I can schedule?

The Threads API allows 250 posts and 1,000 replies per rolling 24 hours per account. The queue respects those limits.

Can I post to Threads and Instagram at the same time?

Yes. Queue one post to both; Instagram requires an image or video, Threads accepts text alone.
