What LinkedIn schedules on its own
LinkedIn is unusual among the big networks: it schedules natively and free. The clock icon in the Start a post window takes a date and time between ten minutes and three months out, and the scheduled post stays editable until it publishes. For one person posting to one profile a few times a week, that is genuinely enough.
It stops being enough when the thing you manage is a schedule rather than a post: a Company Page and a profile, several Pages for clients, a launch that has to land on LinkedIn, Facebook and X in the same hour, or a manager who signs off before anything goes out. None of that lives inside the clock icon.
How scheduling a LinkedIn post works here
Social Magnum connects to LinkedIn through its official Community Management API, so a scheduled post publishes as an ordinary Page post under the Page's own name.
- 1Connect LinkedIn from Add Social Account. LinkedIn's own consent screen opens; approve it and tick the Company Pages you administer. While LinkedIn completes its access review of Social Magnum, some accounts may see a short or empty page list at this step — it fills in as that approval lands. Access can be revoked from LinkedIn's Permitted services settings at any time.
- 2Write the post once; the composer counts to 3,000 characters and accepts up to nine images. A video is refused before you schedule, not after.
- 3Pick the slot on the calendar in your workspace timezone, and optionally route it through approval.
- 4At the slot the worker publishes through the API and records the post. Failures are marked with the reason and can be retried; a post can be deleted from Post Manager, which removes it on LinkedIn too.
