Bluesky Scheduler: Queue Posts to Bluesky From One Calendar
Bluesky has no built-in way to schedule a post; the app and the website publish immediately. Social Magnum schedules text and image posts to Bluesky from one calendar, next to Mastodon, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, using an app password so your main password never leaves your account settings. Bluesky accepts up to four images per post and no video, and the composer tells you before you schedule.
- Text and up to 4 images
- App-password login
- One calendar, eight networks
- Replies in one inbox
- Free plan

Why Bluesky needs a scheduler at all
Bluesky's app and website have no schedule button: a post goes out the moment you submit it. A feature request has been open since 2024 and the team has not committed to a date. Until then, scheduling on Bluesky means a third-party tool that holds the queue and posts through the AT Protocol at the set time.
That is what Social Magnum does, with one difference from single-network tools: the Bluesky post sits on the same calendar as Mastodon, Threads and the rest, so a launch written once can go everywhere at the same slot, adapted to Bluesky's 300-character limit.
How scheduling a Bluesky post works here
Bluesky has no permission scopes, so it is connected with an app password rather than your account password.
- 1In Bluesky, open Settings, then Privacy and security, then App passwords, and create one for Social Magnum. It can be revoked there whenever you like.
- 2Connect the account with your handle and that app password. The password is stored encrypted and never shown again.
- 3Write the post; the composer counts to 300 characters and accepts up to four images. Video is refused before you schedule, not after.
- 4Pick the slot on the calendar, in your workspace timezone, and optionally route it through approval.
- 5At the slot it publishes through the AT Protocol. Failures are marked with the reason and can be retried.
- 6Replies land in the Engage inbox next to your other networks.

How the MCP server worksBluesky scheduling, answered
Can you schedule posts on Bluesky?
Not in the Bluesky app or website; both publish immediately. A third-party scheduler such as Social Magnum queues the post and publishes it through the AT Protocol at the time you set.
Is it safe to connect Bluesky with an app password?
App passwords exist for exactly this. They are separate from your account password, cannot change account settings, and you can revoke one in Bluesky settings at any time. Social Magnum stores it encrypted and never displays it again.
Can I schedule video to Bluesky?
Not through Social Magnum; our Bluesky path accepts text and up to four images, and the composer flags a video before you schedule it rather than failing later.
What is the character limit for a Bluesky post?
300 characters. The composer counts as you type, and a longer post written for other networks can be adapted for Bluesky without changing the others.
Can I post to Bluesky and Mastodon at the same time?
Yes. Both are text-first networks with similar limits, and one post can be queued to both from the same composer.
