Free Social Media Management Tools in 2026 (Actually Free)
Most free-tools lists are padded with trials. This one holds the line: six hosted plans you can stay on at $0 forever, two self-host options, every limit verified on the vendors' own pages.

Most “free social media management tools” lists are padded with 14-day trials and tools that stopped being free years ago. This page holds a harder line: every entry below has a plan you can stay on at $0 forever, and every limit — posts, accounts, history — was read from the vendor’s own pricing page on 23 August 2026. The trials pretending to be free plans get their own section at the bottom.
Every real free plan, verified

| Buffer | 3 channels · 10 queued posts each | Queue caps per channel | 11 incl. X and LinkedIn |
| Publer | 3 accounts · 10 scheduled posts each | No X; 24-hour post history | Broad set, X paid-only |
| Zoho Social | 1 brand, limited features | Built to upsell the $10 plan | Wide, incl. X and LinkedIn |
| Typefully | 1 social set · 10 posts /mo | Text networks only | X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon |

1 · Social Magnum — the full app at $0 (ours)
Social Magnum’s free plan is 2 social accounts and 15 posts a month, forever, with the complete calendar, composer and dashboard — no card, no trial clock. The honest caps: AI generation, CSV bulk scheduling and RSS automation are paid features, and we publish to eight networks that do not include X, LinkedIn or Google Business. When you outgrow it, the first paid plan is $24 flat for 10 accounts and 2 people.
Best free fit: one brand posting a few times a week on the visual networks — Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest.
2 · Metricool — free analytics attached
Metricool gives 1 brand and 20 posts a month free with genuine cross-network analytics attached — the only free plan here where reporting is the headline. X connections need a paid add-on.
Best free fit: the owner who wants numbers with their posts.
3 · Buffer — the simplest free queue
Buffer keeps the classic free plan: 3 channels with 10 queued posts per channel, across eleven networks including X and LinkedIn — the widest network reach of any hosted free plan on this page.
Best free fit: a solo operator on X or LinkedIn plus one visual network.
4 · Publer — three accounts free
Publer’s free tier covers 3 accounts with 10 scheduled posts per account and 25 drafts. Two caps to know: X is excluded from free entirely, and published posts are only stored for 24 hours.
Best free fit: light scheduling across three non-X accounts.
5 · Zoho Social — the ecosystem starter
Zoho Social keeps a limited free plan for one brand, clearly built as the on-ramp to its $10-a-month Standard plan — which is itself the cheapest paid tool in the category.
Best free fit: Zoho-suite businesses testing the water.
6 · Typefully — free for text-first creators
Typefully’s free plan covers 1 social set, 1 user and 10 posts a month across the five text networks — X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon — with API and agent access included even at $0. No visual networks at all.
Best free fit: writers scheduling threads and text posts.
7 · Postiz and Mixpost — free if you host them
Two open-source options make the whole product free in exchange for running it yourself: Postiz (self-host the full scheduler, API and webhooks; its hosted cloud starts at $29) and Mixpost Lite (free edition covering Facebook Pages, X and Mastodon with unlimited accounts; the $299 one-time Pro unlocks the full network list). The price is paid in ops: a server, Docker, backups and upgrades are yours.
Best free fit: developers with a spare server and the patience to maintain it.
8 · The platforms’ own free tools
Do not forget the $0 option hiding in plain sight: Meta Business Suite schedules Facebook and Instagram free, TikTok and YouTube both schedule natively, and Pinterest allows scheduled pins. The cost is fragmentation — five dashboards, no shared calendar, no cross-posting — which is the exact problem every tool above exists to solve.
Trials dressed as free
- Hootsuite — no free plan; from $99 per user a month billed annually.
- Sprout Social — 30-day trial, then from $79 per seat billed annually.
- Later, SocialBee, SocialPilot, Sendible, Vista Social — trials only, no free tier to stay on.
- Agorapulse — a generous 30-day trial with no card, but a trial all the same.
None of this makes them bad tools — several are excellent — but a list of free tools they do not belong on.
When free runs out
The short version
- 1
Hitting post caps weekly: the cheapest paid exits are Zoho at $10, SocialPilot at $20 and Social Magnum at $24 flat.
- 2
Need X or LinkedIn free: Buffer's 3-channel plan is the only comfortable hosted answer; Typefully for text-only.
- 3
Need analytics free: Metricool, nothing else close.
- 4
Have a server and time: Postiz self-hosted is the most complete $0 in the category.
- 5
Running one brand lightly: any of the six hosted free plans genuinely suffices — pick by network list, not by feature tables.
